(What's the Story) 2020?
So far, 2020 has been an annus horribilis. The first couple of months were marred by bad weather, particularly storms Ciara, Dennis and Jorge. Then the on-going Corvid-19 pandemic hit us hard, leading to the current lockdown. Unfortunately, this has all had an impact on Street Art NQ being updated.
Planned trips to Manchester to capture the latest murals and graffiti of the Northern Quarter have had to be cancelled; and right now, in accordance with government guidelines, we have all found ourselves needing to stay at home to protect lives. As much as we love hunting down the latest street art, this is not essential in the current climate.
May will mark the first anniversary of Street Art NQ. It is disappointing that the last few months of this website’s first year have been so devoid of updates. However, the lockdown will not be forever and we will return to the Northern Quarter to photograph its constantly evolving street art scene.
In the meantime we will be starting to share more of the street art featured on these pages via Twitter. If you’re not following us yet, please do so that we can add some colour to your Twitter feed. Your follows also help motivate us to keep this whole thing going and are massively appreciated.
Of course, you can also enjoy the street art of the Northern Quarter by exploring the gallery of old and new artworks on this site from the comfort of your sofa.
Please follow the government’s instructions on Coronavirus and keep track of any changes. Staying at home and only venturing out when it is absolutely necessary really will help save lives. Remember we are all in this together.
See you soon Manchester!
